Casino Match Status

Casino Status Match Opportunities are a popular topic since casino rewards programs offer a ton of ways to get perks and benefits even when you’re not visiting Las Vegas or other gaming destinations. You can receive a Caesars Status Match to Diamond From Other Casinos. The Pandemic had both positive and negative affects on customer loyalty and travel rewards especially when it comes to loyalty program elite status. Generally, Casino status matching starts with a hotel loyalty match promotion whereby Wyndham Diamond status is earned through matching an existing elite status with a different hotel chain. Unfortunately, Wyndham has discontinued it’s status match promotion until further notice, so the typical path to casino status is no longer available. On the other hand, it seems that nearly every casino program is offering Status Matches to elite members of competing casinos. Even more exciting than that is the freebies that come along with many casino match promotions.

UPDATE 9/7/23 – This post was updated to add the Palms Status Match, as well as how to match without the Hyatt-MGM partnership. This does make it a bit harder to get MGM status, as you now have to match in person. However, you can get Caesars Diamond status through the Wyndham Business Earner card or the fo

UPDATE 4/14/22– Everyone check your Caesars Rewards Status – you should have been upgraded back to Diamond Status! It seems Caesars has reversed their terrible decision to downgrade members they previously matched to Diamond from the Wyndham Diamond status match. For now it seems the casino status match gravy train is alive and well. Please comment with new data points. Cheers to one more year!

UPDATE: MGM Rewards Status Match is now available through the end of September 2023.  2023 Caesars Rewards Guide (Plus Earning and Redeeming Tier Credits, Rewards Credits and Benefits) The key here is to earn casino status but without burning any major match opportunities. Starting out in Atlantic City- which is highly recommended since Hard Rock and Ocean are excellent places to start without wasting any of free night and or play offers.

a hand holding several credit cards

First we’ll do a quick list of all the steps in order and go over them in detail below. In order to get started with status matches you need to get any of the following elite statuses:

    • Wyndham Diamond Status
    • Caesars Diamond Status
    • MGM Gold Status

Since most casino status matches start with Wyndham, we’re going to use that for our step by step guide.

  1. Earn Wyndham Diamond status.
  2. Match Wyndham Diamond to Caesars Rewards Diamond Status
  3. Visit MGM Rewards Desk and show them your Caesars Diamond Card to receive a status match to MGM Gold or Platinum if you have higher Caesars Rewards status.
  4. Head to Hard Rock in Atlantic City and show them your Caesars Rewards Diamond Card or your MGM Rewards Gold Card and you’ll be matched to their Top Tier “Rock Royalty” status (in addition to getting two free nights and free play).
  5. Take your Hard Rock Rock Royalty Card to Ocean Resort AC and get matched to Ocean Rewards Prime status. This comes with a free stay at Wynn (Boston or Las Vegas) and a free 7 night MSC cruise!
  6. (optional) Visit Mirage Las Vegas and match your MGM Gold to Hard Rock Unity Icon status. This will allow you to get a $100 property credit which can be used at on-property restaurants.
  7. According to MilesTalk, it looks like it is possible to match MGM Gold status to Resorts World elite status. But, it is unknown was status it will match to.
  8. (optional) In another post from MilesTalk, it looks like it is possible to then take your Resorts World status and match it to Palms elite status. But, don’t match MGM Gold/Caesars Diamond status to Palms as you won’t be matched to Amber status. It is only possible via Resorts World. That allows you to then get free parking and waived resort fees.

How to Earn Casino Status with MGM and Caesars

Resorts World Status Match

  • You can match your MGM Rewards Gold status to Resorts World, but I haven’t seen data points about what status the MGM status matches to, as they recently revamped their program. But I did see that it matched to A-List status before the revamp.

Palms Status Match

  • If the status from Resorts World goes through, then you can match it to Palms. Don’t match your MGM Rewards Gold/Caesars Diamond Status to Palms, as you won’t get lounge access or free parking.
  • Take the Resorts World status to Palms, and it will be matched to Amber.
  • This status allows waived resort fees, free parking, and from what I can tell, VIP lounge access.

Thoughts

The status match gravy train has been going on for years and it’ll be interesting to see whether Wyndham brings back it’s match promotion. This is just a primer, over the next few weeks I will cover in detail how the status extensions have created some very lucrative opportunities and how to exploit them. Check out this post about transferring points between the programs.

Hi, I have a Diamond Plus with Caesars casinos. I am going to Vegas Aug 15 to September 5. Reno for 3 days Sept 1-4. What casino groups can I do a status match? Basically looking for comps while I am there. I have all my hotels comped free with Caesars casinos and 8 days with Tropicana and M Resort. Also my husband is Diamond with Choice Privileges’s hotel and Advantage status with My Choice Penn gaming. How can he get a higher status with Penn gaming.? Hope you can help. I don’t want to status match in Vegas unless it Benifits me while I’m there, since I mainly gamble in Louisiana, it may be better if I do it there, not sure you’re the expert, you’re help is greatly appreciated. You should definitely do the Wynn Match while you’re there (it’s available through August 31) and I would do Mlife as well since their status carries at all their locations. As far as Penn, I don’t see any status matches available, though I wonder if he might try the players club at specific My Choice casinos.

Diamond member with Caesars for a couple years. I live in Kc so there’s a local Harrah’s to add to tier credits / stays in Las Vegas. I don’t think we will make it tp Diamond this year since the credit for hotel stay went form
    5 to $1 now 1 to $1.
There is a Boyd here in KC. SO will Boyd match Caesars status this year then we can begin spending money at Ameristar and Freemont. Will Caesars match Boyd 2023 or only new members? Caesars’ rewards has become much less rewarding and I don’t want to invest in them until the begin to realize they are loosing business and change back.

My Caesars Diamond status was revoked last week when I got notice from them that they didn’t do WYNDHAM Diamond status match anymore and this when it had been done more than a month before and did have my Caesar’s Diamond ….
I sent an email saying it was an unfair practice and that they should respect whatever they did in the past.
As far as you’re concern …. What’s your opinion on this ?

I acquired the Wyndham Business Earner Card, as using my Wyndham Diamond Status via my old Wyndham Barclays card no longer seemed to work. A couple of weeks ago I attempted to match now that I have thay business card, but weeks later I was still only Gold at Caesars.. Today I went to Caesars in Atlantic City and they refused to match my status via Wyndham, and also refused to match my Hyatt Globalist status. The people at the rewards desk at Caesars AC told me they will only do reward matches every other year and I have to come back in 2023. This directly contradicts the information I’ve read online.
