Caesars Status Match: Maximize Value (FKA Total Rewards)
The status match gravy train has been going on for years and it’ll be interesting to see whether Wyndham brings back it’s match promotion but we do know that the Wyndham and Caesars partnership has been extended through 2024 so you’ll be able to keep it going for a few years at least by matching. Wyndham and Caesars back and forth each year.
steve davis says
As of today June 12 Wyndham is not doing status match. It really pisses me off, as I’ve been waiting over a year to do the match for my August trip to Vegas.
Bougiemiles says
You can still status match from Caesars to Wyndham.
Janet Carney says
My Husband Also Has A Caesars Visa Could That Help Her Get A Room
TC says
You can apply for Wyndam Business Credit Card for $95 annual and get diamond status right away and match that over to CET
Joe says
Pisses you off that you don’t get a status match for something you did literally nothing for? Lmao
Jo says
The Caesar’s status match is only for new accounts, any way to override this? Can we delete an account and reapply?
Bougiemiles says
No but in practice yes. I’ve accidentally signed up for more than one account at casinos I didn’t frequent- it happens that they don’t notice the duplicate account if you change address or add a middle name etc.
Janet Carney says
Can A Current Caesars Diamond Member,( Thru End Of Year)
But Handicapped By Moving To A State W/O A Caesars Trade Status At Say Hard Rock Or WinStar ? Also Does Any One Allow Us To Add A Family Member??? Daughter In Texas Likes To Go To Vegas Also Handicapped By Work And Location. Any Ideas??
Bougiemiles says
Actually I do have a good idea on this one- first Hard Rock Seminole and AC will status match and then you can use the current Mlife status match (if you google mlife status match and find my post on the first place it exaplins how to do that. THEN and here’s the catch- you’ll have to take a family trip with your daughter to an m life casino and you can link your accounts as long as you “live in the same” house. From there on out- any play you guys do will count towards your joint account and you’ll get better comps and both be able to use the benefits when only one or both of you goes. I check in without my linked member all the time on his comps.
Mike says
They busted me when I tried this. I went to to two different Caesars Rewards desks and told them I am needing to open a rewards account, had a new email I never used before and asked for the status match. As the agent was typing I said I am a new rewards member and never had an account before. Then she found my old account, I denied the old account was mine even though it had the same birthday and name. Then the email I was going to use on my new account was without my approval put on my old account. So basically I struck out with Caesars. 🙁 They have a protocol that searches by name and date of birth for people who state they have never had an account before and seek a status match. The agent also told me I would be denied 500 tier points if I got a referral code and tried to make a new account also. Then the rewards manager suggested I get the Wyndham business card which he stated would be my only option at this point.
Bougiemiles says
Oh that stinks! Sorry
Chad says
Can you please explain how to actually complete the status match. I don’t see a link, phone number, or email address to contact Ceasars. I have M Life Gold via Hyatt, which shows as eligible. Thank you for your help!
Bethany Walsh says
Sure, it has a link to the status match process but I can see why this is confusing with all the crazy fonts. So you have to bring your mlife card to a Caesars Rewards desk in person and they’ll upgrade you on the spot.
Fat Tony says
Great resource on this topic Bougiemiles. Its much appreciated.
My question is; where can I find the status match from diamond to other casinos in my market. I just earned Diamond at CET. How do I find out what other casinos will allow me to upgrade to their “Diamond” equivalent status?
I’m local to Kansas City so
Ballys, BConnected, My Choice, are the other programs in my market.
Bethany Walsh says
Right here 🙂 https://www.bougiemiles.com/casino-match-status-guide-now-that-wyndham-match-is-dead/
Ginger Cordray says
If I signed up for M life online and I have caesars Diamond, did I just ruin my chance to status match to Mlife Gold?
Bethany Walsh says
No, the M life match is for new and existing customers so you’re good!
AT says
Can you explain the following from blog:
“As you can see by waiting until later in the year to match status you can earn Diamond for a long time without really having to do much. If you went in December, you could earn 1,250 Tier Credits just by spending $250 on resort spend.”
Based on Caesar’s Reward page, dining and other resort spend is $1 to 1 tier credit. I would rather earn 1,250 by spending $250…. please elaborate on the $250 spend!
Ulysses G says
From the CR site:
https://caesarsrewards.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/233/kw/tier%20credits
Hotel: Earn 5 Tier Credit for every $1 spent on room rates and resort fees ONLY paid to Caesars Entertainment – credits posted 10 days after check-out. (Upgrade fees, food & beverage and other miscellaneous fees charged to the room earn 1 Tier Credit; no credit is given for tips.)
So you can book a room in December and make sure you spend $250 to get extended.
Kevin Soun says
This is once the status match has been completed correct? So for example: I have Hyatt explorist. Im going to match Mlife Gold > Caesars Diamond in Jan 2022. I would have to spend $250 in Dec 2022 to keep Caesars Diamond until the end of 2023?
Harvey Shines says
I’m going to Vegas in Dec (first visit ever!) but don’t have status with any casino hotels whatsoever (I do have Marriott Platinum and Hilton Diamond statuses though)
I was hoping to get Caesar’s Diamond before the trip to avail the $100 dining credits even though I won’t be taking advantage of the other perks (we are staying at Cosmo + Palazzo for 2 nights each) and then was hoping to take a complimentary trip to Atlantis Bahamas next year
I realize that two ways I could get Caesar’s Diamond would be by getting either :
a) Wyndham Earner Business card (the $95 fee pretty much washes the $100 dining credits though) or
b) Founder’s Card Elite Membership (I did their trial membership but Caesar’s is only available with the Elite membership which is a minimum of $295 in annual fees)
Are there any other ways to get the Diamond status that I missed? If I have to pay the $95 fee for the Wyndham Earner’s card then does it even make sense to grab the card in my above scenario?
I will be taking a trip to Dubai in May next year as well so in theory at least I could utilize the Wyndham points on that trip but meeting that minimum spend will be quite painful and annoying.
Appreciate your response – cheers!
Luc says
I have Ceasars Rewards Daimond, but it will expire Jan 31st 2022.
I also have Wyndham Daimond and this one expires, if I am correct on Dec 31st 2022 (dont know where I can verify this, as the Wyndham site onle showes me WHEN I became Daimond)
My question: Do I have to match Wyndham to Ceasars to get a new 12months from Ceasars AFTER 31JAN2022?
Of is it a must do match it before this date…. I tried to match it today, but I got a message my status cant be upgraded.
Sorry for bad English, Im not a native speaker (Netherlands Europe)
Mark R. says
Fantastic article, Bethany! To make sure I’m understanding this correctly…I’m seeing 2 separate opportunities:
1. The “Caesars Diamond Tier Match” is a limited-time promotion valid from Feb. 01 – Dec. 31, 2022, and it’s only available to new Caesars Rewards members. It allows matching from a “competitor program,” regardless of status level, to Caesars Diamond. A “competitor program” would include MGM, but not Wyndham (which is a partner program). So if you’re matching from MGM Gold to Caesars Diamond, then you’ll need to be a new Caesars member.
2. The Caesars-Wyndham partnership is separate and has been around for years. One of the benefits is a status match, which can be done annually by new & existing Caesars members alike. The path here would be Wyndham Diamond to Caesars Diamond.
Does this sound right to you & all others reading this? 😀
Bethany says
Correct on both fronts :)…. Lmk if you have any issues from there! Thank you for reading
Mark R. says
You rock, thanks!
Zach J says
Thank you for all of the advice! Has anyone else had issues with Caesars matching to Diamond in the last few weeks from Wyndham Diamond? I have tried initiating the status match twice now (each time I get a message that my Caesar’s status will be upgraded within seven days), but thus far I’m still stuck with my Platinum status. Thank you in advance for any help you (or other readers) can provide. 🙂
Bougiemiles says
Yes, everyone is having the same problem. They’re saying they are very behind on Tier Matches- I finally got mine about a week ago.
Zach J says
Thank you for the information and quick reply!
George Ross says
I can’t believe you will tier match a brand new member but will not do the same for someone who had spent thousands of dollars in the past few years at various Caesars properties.
Explain to me why? So I am better off to keep my status elsewhere. For example “MGM”
Bougiemiles says
I agree- you should definitely stick to programs that actually reward loyalty.
Gene says
So I just got an email from Caesars “we upgraded you by mistake” . This email went to people who status matched and after waiting for about a month instead of 7 days for Caesers to do the match. I went to Caesars rewards desk and they did it manually after 2weeks of not getting matched in the app. So I don’t know why they are doing this to people
Bougiemiles says
I know! This is a really crazy development in re loyalty programs in general- I’ve never seen them remove benefits ex-post facto. How did you contact Caesars? I’d love to follow up to see what the exact rules are.
j says
I didn’t receive an e-mail.
It took me 30 days to receive diamond status and they took it away by downgrading me to GOLD because of the new policy that just came out in March 2022. I am visiting the property tomorrow thinking I had Diamond status, and now I don’t. I have Gold. I status matched from Wyndham hotels diamond, but because it wasn’t earned through spending money and nights at their hotels, they downgraded me to Gold at Caesars rewards program.
Coachkduce says
I was previously matched via my Wyndham Diamond to Caesar’s Diamond and then i went 6 months without spend.. and around Feb 1st Caesar’s dropped me to Gold. I then tried to match again and on March 1st I was Diamond status again….. and then on March 10th.. i was back to Gold status. Any tips on how to navigate this grid?
Bougiemiles says
It’s over for now- the only ways to actually get Diamond now are Founderscard and Wyndham Business Earned card. Bummer I know.
j says
It took me 30 days to receive diamond status and they took it away by downgrading me to GOLD because of the new policy that just came out in March 2022. I am visiting the property tomorrow thinking I had Diamond status, and now I don’t. I have Gold. I status matched from Wyndham hotels diamond, but because it wasn’t earned through spending money and nights at their hotels, they downgraded me to Gold at Caesars rewards program.
Mike says
I asked the Founders Card company about the $99 Founders Card and they said they are not doing that offer anymore ever again.
Bougiemiles says
That makes sense- that was a killer deal, I’m sure they lost money on it.

Update 3/26/22.
I visited the total rewards center at Harrah’s Atlantic city on 3/26/22 and was upgraded to Diamond immediately when I showed them my MGM GOLD card. The supervisor asked me if I status matched last year because I can’t do this again this year or 2 consecutive year. Later on she found out that I didn’t because I used my Wyndham Diamond in 2021.
I had diamond status on 2/1/22 and totalrewards downgraded me to gold 7 days later because I matched my Diamond status from Wyndham Hotels to totalrewards without staying a night at any of Wyndham hotels or spending money at their locations.
Because I did not use any casino’s card to do a diamond upgrade last year (2021), I was able to upgrade it this year. I will not be able to do this again in 2023, I will be able to do it on 2024. (every other year).
The “NEW MEMBERS” doesn’t apply, they knew I was a totalrewards member for 10 plus years and they still upgraded me to Diamond.
Once I received my diamond status, I went over to HardRock Atlantic city and became ROCK ROYALTY.
Next on the list is going to OCEAN to show my HARD ROCK ROCK ROYALTY CARD to status match to PRIME at OCEAN.
JL says
When they say “new member”, does that mean I need to sign up for a new account in person at the rewards desk? I’ve never had a Caesars account, and I’m travelling to Vegas next week. If I create an account online today, does that mean when I go to the rewards desk to get my MGM Gold status matched, I won’t be eligible because I’m not technically a “new” Caesars member? Not sure how specific they are when it comes to having new membership status, but I’m hoping a 1 or 2 week old account would qualify as new.
Bougiemiles says
Is there a reason you want to do it before hand? I would wait since I’m guessing they would say you’re an existing member.
JL says
The only reason I considered doing it beforehand is that the hotel rates are currently cheaper for members vs. non members… But the Diamond perks are worth more than the difference in room rate, so I’ll wait to create an account in person. Thanks!
Bougiemiles says
Of course! I think that’s the best choice
j says
It depends, I was not a new member, I’ve been a member for 10 years at totalrewards and when I showed them my MGM gold, they upgraded me to Diamond. I’m saying it depends because a supervisor can deny your or actually upgrade you like they did for me.
Carl Schon says
Caesars Diamond: the benefits are still great, no Resort fee, is the only major perk. But the discrimination runs deep, due to perfect tech: They frown upon ppl. that forget to put the card in for monitoring. I played for only $1000 this week, during NFL draft and forgot my card, or played at Fremont street, Encore, Mandalay, and “only” monitored for $250 with them. Then I got treated with snare remarks at vip checkout, because I used their Room at the Rio and not lost enough money to “pay for it” they could not trace and track enough losses. So, if you use the Diamond perks, they expect you to behave accordingly, and wager enough money, they can track. $20 losers are not allowed. They really wanna see something for their bet on you, giving you a cheap room…. It’s just all a hustle, back and forth…
j says
Casinos are trying to receive a return on their investment by having you lose more than the perks they give you.
Carl says
Diamond Status: I also talked to some bartenders at Rio bars, and after tipping them $20 for a $400 win on the bar pokermachine, they told me that Diamond Status means nothing anymore. They “got cheap on them” the management… They are giving them away like candy, and “everybody “ has one now… Just look at the characters in the VIP lines., Diamond is going downhill. That is why you need the next three tiers up., they invented…..
j says
Tier status means nothing at casinos. Its how much action or losses you give them at the time of play. I status match to Hard Rock Rock Royalty and all they give me is the free car wash once a month at Atlantic City. I would have to play a lot and earn their perks. All these status matches are common,
A says
I’ve been a Caesars Diamond member a number of years due to the gravy train but was not matched back to Diamond from Wyndham in February. So I am at gold status even after their reversal in policy. I tried matching again online and it said approved but it’s been many days with no change in status.
I do have the MGM Gold…..from what J is saying, sounds like I could upgrade to Diamond in person by matching my MGM gold, even though I’m not a new member? Otherwise, I am going to have to get the Wyndham Biz Earners card……all this is key and somewhat urgent timewise and I’m not going to be back in Vegas for 2 more weeks. So I’d love to know if you think I will be upgraded without having to apply to a new credit card. Thanks!
j says
I was upgraded to diamond from Wyndham, then they changed their policy and put me back to gold.
Because I am Gold and MGM Borgata, I was upgraded to Diamond by showing them my GOLD MGM Borgata at the Harrah’s location Atlantic city.
They say you have to be a “new” member, but I’ve been with them for over 10 years and they still upgraded me to Diamond.
Because I upgraded to Diamond using a competitor card, I cannot do this for 2023, but I can do it for 2024, its an every other year upgrade to prevent any one constantly upgrading year after year.
Bougiemiles says
I am always telling people that rule is enforced like 1/2 the time so you might as well try. Glad to hear it still worked for you.
Mike says
I think it is enforced only in Las Vegas so the Caesars locations in Atlantic City are much friendlier… It seems to be worth a trip down to Atlantic City to try this out. But how does one get from the airport such as PHL to Harrahs in Atlantic City without a rental car?
RK says
In Vegas now and tried to follow advice- I got told the match is only for “new” members and got denied. My status online has not been reverted back from the post on this thread, so seems like a shot in the dark.
Good luck to all!
j says
That really sucks, I went to the Harrah’s Atlantic city location and they saw my MGM GOLD Borgata, and they gave me Diamond right there on the spot with a supervisor inputting the information on the computer.
Not sure why Vegas isn’t allowing you to do so.
Mike says
It is not just Vegas it is also Laughlin. I stopped by Laughlin and they have the “new member” rule also.
Mike says
The Harrahs in San Diego area also will only match new members.
Lou D says
Hello,
There seems to be “a lot” of changes since 4/22 regarding tier matching. If I’m a Marriott Bonvoy rewards member at Platinum or Titanium status, does that match with either Caesars rewards or MGM Rewards? Also, is MGM Rewards still matching Caesars Rewards Diamond to MGM’s Gold status?
Thank you,
Lou
Mike says
MGM is matching I believe until the end of June 2022. Bonvoy will not get you anything with Caesars. Only new members can match at Caesars and only certain casino statuses. The only hotel chain Caesars provides a match with is Wyndham.
john lavig says
Will Caesars/Harrahs/Tropicana in Atlantic City match my Gulfstream Triple Crown Black Card
to Diamond ?
Ariel says
Hi, I have a question. I am a current Hilton Honors Gold Status member and Marriot Bonvoy Gold Elite Status. Is there any way to obtain Caesar’s Rewards Diamond Status given that Wyndham isn’t doing their match status program right now?
Bethany says
No, not with Marriott or Hilton- unfortunately Gold in either may not even give you a hotel status match.
Sung F Chew says
Does Wyndham Business credit card still provides Caesar Diamond match for existing Caesar member?
Wes says
As of early June 2023 they still were, but it took me sending a couple request through. Had at least one rep say they couldn’t match, but eventually got it through. I submitted request from the webpage, as well as through chat support on both Wyndham and Caesar side.
